I have a 06 Street Glide and last summer while riding back from Sturgis my radio just quit playing music. The power remains on, but no sounds comes out until I de-power and re-power the radio head unit. Then it will play for 5-15 minutes and it's done and I have to de-power/re-power again. Pikes Peak Harley just want to give me a refurbished unit for $450 and send mine in for a core, I think there is a shop somewhere that would fix the internal problem, I just need some feedback of who to send it to. I could have one heck of an aftermarket radio for $450, but I want to keep using the handlebar controls. Any thoughts anyone?

Well, I ended up sending my head unit to Iron Cross Audio in New Jersey whom which are Harmon Kardon experts with H-D radios. They received and repaired it and sent it the same day for a $250 flat rate and that included software upgrades and a 6 month warranty. It was all in good timing to install my Paul Yaffe Monkey Bars which look bad ass. Now let's get Winter out of the way and RIDE!

Good to know that Iron Cross Audio exists. I had a problem last fall on my 2008 Ultra where all radio functions stopped working but CD appeared OK. Took it to my local dealer. They found the problem and fixed it, but cautioned me that this probably should not have been fixed under my maintenance agreement.
Also in the process of trying to fix my problem, I found out about the software upgrades I was missing. Seems they usually don't bother to do them unless someone someone brings the radio in with a problem. I'll request the latest upgrades be applied the next time my bike is in for service. Again, Thanks.
