My 1982 yamaha 750 maxin leaked oil into the air filter and ruined the air filter.
My plan is to change the oil and oil filter along with a new air filter.
I need to know what happened. It has a hose from the engine to the air filter housing.
I know the oil has never been changed and the oil filter is probably ruined also.
Anyone have any ideas or seen this problem.

The oil in your air filter housing is prob from your engine breather. This can happen if you overfill your oil level or run high speeds for a long period of time. If the oil has never been changed since 1982, there may be issues other than those I have already mentioned. Change the oil, oil filter & air filter and be sure to put in the proper amount of oil and see what happens.
