I'm sorry to see the direction the mag is heading. There are already several all HD publications for the bagging community. The last couple of months there have been HDs featured almost exclusively. When I subscribed to Hot Bike Baggers, I thought "Cool, a mag that covers baggers regardless of brand.", but that seems to be gone now. You do feature some awesome bikes, some I like and some not so much, but I can appreciate the work the owners have put into their rides. I know I'm rambling, but I don't see the point of resubscribing to another publication that will never feature or pursue advertisers with products for my bike.
Thanks for letting me vent a little.

Paul,
The bottom line is this; there are a much larger amount of people building custom touring bikes that are Harley-Davidson based rather than any other type of bikes.
If more people were building nice custom metrics, then we would feature more of them.
No more no less...

For everyone who is upset at the lack of metric coverage, I have to ask: Have you submitted your bike to the mag for a feature? If you haven't tried to be proactive in changing what you don't like, then there's no reason to gripe. Metrics get lost in the sea of Harley's at shows and events so it's not reasonable to expect these guys to find YOU! Go find THEM and get in the mag!

You have thrown down the gauntlet. I'm doing some major mods this winter and she should be a real looker when I roll her out next spring. I'll have a photog friend shoot some pics to submit and we will see what happens. I hope the mag takes into account when a rider does all his own mods, rather than having a shop do it all and just cutting a check.

I agree with "firefighter" to a point. See my entry on "Viable Alternatives" on this site. There are lots & LOTS of alternatives to the standard H-D bagger, argue the merits, as you may, but I have to agree with Toph & Jeff that the majority of Customized baggers are of H-D origin. Therefore the question is "is it just customized baggers in this magazine or baggers in general"??? On one hand Toph defends the review of the Kawazaki 900 to an irate H-D reader (see letter section in Jan. mag) & that is fine, but the augument, from my point of view is, who cares about a 900cc bike? We are "Heavy" riders who want big cc's power & comfort, with some music doo-dahs & whatever thrown in. What's the saying "There is no replacement for displacement"! Anyway, where is the coverage of the new Kaw Nomad/Voyager, the new Star Road/Stratoliner with fairing & bags, the Triumph Rocket 3 tourer and the new Victory Cross Country & Roads the like. Forget about the middleweights, that not who buys this magazine, I want to hear educated honest opinions about apples to apples, not apples to grapes, Nomad vs Roadking vs Cross Roads (I think thats the one with just the windshield) but you know what i mean. If this is a true bagger magazine then let's get some honest to goodness true to life big A$$ baggers in in. And yes, there are customized Metric baggers out there, I just happen to ride one, 07 Nomad 1600 with among other things, Cobra duals & hand painted accents

ABSOLUTELY, Paul. I am hoping to see your bike in BAGGERS soon. It looks like a real nice ride. It's a real shame that some riders do not have the community spirit of the ride itself, but only get caught up in a brand of motorcycle. I understand that some may argue that they are keeping America beautiful by only riding the American brand, but then many go out and buy Asian made products to customize their bikes. Keep America beautiful by loving the ride not the brand. I really enjoy the magazine guys and look forward to seeing a few worthy metrics from time to time.

Thanks DD. It is all about the ride, and seeing this beautiful country from the saddle of your bike no matter what the brand. How does one submit their bike to be considered by your mag?
Thanks, Paul

Sorry for any confusion that I may have caused you by calling it "MY MAGAZINE" Paul. It was a figure of speech. What I meant was that the title is Baggers; which would include any motorcycle with bags on it. I have purchased the magazine for almost two years and have never found any exclusion of any make of bike based on it's origins. Let's all just appreciate what it's all about....... a diverse group of people getting together to share what we love. Kind of what our great nation was founded on in the first place, right?
