rick, i have an '07 SG with the 6.5" flare. it does pretty good at knockin down the bugs, you'll still get a stragler. don't buy the two pouch windshield bag as it won't fit, unless you can lengthen the brackets. BD64

Hi Rick, Last year a local HD dealer installed the windshield you are asking about on a 08 street glide demo bike. They asked me to ride the bike and provide feedback on the windshield. I am 5'10" tall. The air stream seemed to hit me at my forehead, it was a bit anoying, but better than short stock shield. A friend of mine rode the same bike right after I did, I did not tell him what I thought until he told me his thoughts. He is about 5'8" or 5'9" tall. He said it was just right for him, the wind was just at the top of his head. So i hope this helps give you an idea of how it works . It is simular to a snowmobile windshield , the idea is to change the wind direction to get it to flow over your head and around your body. The seat height and your body height will make a difference on how the windshield performs for you. See if you can try one on someones bike before you buy. I hope this helps. evrk1

I have a 2009 flhx and have the new 3.5 flare on it. Im 6'3 225 and the pocket the flare makes works for me. I would recomend it to anyone. Plus i think that it looks better than the 6.5. I've got mine in black and it really stands out aginst the silver paint of my glide.

I've fot an 08 streetglide with the 6.5 in flare. wind behind the sheild is alot less and doesn't catch as many bug.I got the thing really for the cool factor! It is a hell of alot more aero than the stocker and the dark smoke looks good with the black pearl paint.it seems that everywhere I go people ask me about it.

my old man rocks one on his 09 street glide. I think it comes off a little too futuristic to mesh with that classic H-D look, but hey, that's commin' from a guy who dislikes the look of any windshield, on any bike. (Mind you i said looks, not functionality!)

hey to anyone who has thoughts of purchasing a klockwerks flare...i love mine! mind you that the windshield was designed for high speed, bar hop style riding its not; unless your bar is many miles down the freeway!

I'm 6"2". I got the 6.5" Flare and really liked it. the wind hit me somewhere around my forehead. The key is your speed. In my opinion the benefits don't kick in til you reach at least 60 mph. I upgraded to the 8.5" when it came out and it's perfect for me. If i'm into a headwind or better yet, no wind, the 8.5" Flare creates a nice "coccon" for me. It really feels quite nice.
