Does anyone know if there is a battery on the market that has a bit more "poop" than the stock battery? I have an 05 RoadGlide that I recently did some engine work to that increased compression a bit, not enough for releases as we were able compensate with a bit of timing adjustments but it does stress out the old battery, its due to be changed out, my mechanic told me I would need a battery soon, LIKE NOW, it is supposed to in the 70's this weekend!! Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, I have a few thoughts on your battery question. Your work on your engine may have increased the cranking load on your starter. A new battery will help crank it over faster, but load on the starter will still be the same. The starter under full load will draw so many amps, if you provide more amps you will shorten the life of the starter. A high torque starter may be a good choice, it has heavier windings and will create more torque to turn the engine over. As for batteries, I've been told that the Harley batteries are a good choice although a little pricey, they are built to withstand the current draw and the vibrations that a motorcycle produces. the design of the battery - how it is built , plate thickness etc makes a difference. I've tried a few different batteries and always end up going back to HD battery.Just thought I would share my thoughts with you.evrk1
